Abrindo caminhos
As modificações aplicadas dentro das cooperativas eram per- cebidas pelo mercado financeiro. A adoção da marca única trouxe efeitos imediatos para a visibilidade do Sicredi, com impactos posi- tivos na credibilidade do Sistema, que se fortalecia na comparação com outras instituições financeiras. “De um dia para outro, nós tí- nhamos cinquenta e poucas casas com a mesma marca, que até en- tão não era notadas. O pessoal comentava: ‘O que está havendo, que agora está cheio de Sicredi?’”, lembra Dorival Scheid, que presidia a Sicredi Serro Azul RS, em Cerro Largo. A padronização dos proce- dimentos também contribuiu para aumentar a confiança nas coope- rativas de crédito, reforçando, perante os associados, a segurança transmitida pela existência de um Sistema que respaldava as ope- rações. “As pessoas se orgulhavam, como se orgulham hoje, dizendo que agora, sim, a nossa Caixinha, a Caixinha aqui da vilinha, como chamávamos, está buscando ir além-fronteiras, com qualidade, pa- dronização, uma marca forte”, recorda Celso Trentin, presidente da Sicredi Noroeste RS.

The financial market took notice of the credit unions’ internal changes. The adoption of a uniform name had an immediate impact on Sicredi’s visibility, giving the System increased credibility and making
it more competitive with other financial institutions. “Suddenly we had 50 plus offices under the same name, which until then went unnoticed. People were saying, ‘What’s happening, that Sicredi is suddenly everywhere?,’” recalls Dorival Scheid, who presided over Sicredi Serro Azul RS, in Cerro
Largo. Standardized procedures also brought increased confidence in credit unions, reassuring members of the security of a System that backed up their operations. “People were proud, as they are today, saying that now, yes, our little bank, the little town bank, as we called it, is looking to expand beyond its borders, with quality, standards, a strong name,” recalls Celso Trentin, President of Sicredi Noroeste RS.
Over the last few decades, the initial reluctance of some leaders to eliminate the old cooperative names has been replaced by the consolidation of the Sicredi name.
