international standards of the GHG Protocol. The inventory became a reference on the topic and contributed to the definition of plans of action and the adoption of measures focused on reducing our social and environmental impacts and raising awareness on the rational use of resources, not to mention actions to mitigate emissions through the purchase of carbon credits and planting trees.
In 2019, Sicredi took another step forward in terms of sustainability management with the implementation of a system to collect and manage wide-scale sustainability indicators, and not merely information on eco-efficiency. The use of the new system increased the quality of data management and traceability, with said data submitted for an independent audit.
The same year, to raise awareness among credit unions and encourage the recruitment of local suppliers that share our vision of sustainability, Sicredi published a guide on Contract Management Best Practices. The guide offers definitions of qual- -ity and the competencies required from partners, in addition to standardized clauses from contracts that regulate credit unions in terms of local purchases. The material also discusses issues like anti-corruption, human rights, the environment, child and slave labor, among others.
