By means of the credit union movement, for over a century Sicredi has been contributing to Brazilian economic and social development, positively impacting myriad communities and regions within the country and promoting social inclusion, access to credit and tackling income concentration. We are the result of collective effort based on ideas of solidarity and democracy, geared towards developing the community as a whole. Throughout our history, we have demonstrated that the best results are attained by doing things together.
The more than 4.4 million members are the bedrock of Sicredi. A cooperative financial ins- titution made by people for people, which, though mutual help and joint effort, strives to build a prosperous society. Our Sustainability Report showcases the major social impact generated by Sicredi, leveraging the offer of financial products and services, with a positive repercussion in the quality of life of members and society in general.
Being a collective company with a social mission, we are not geared towards profit, nor the distribution of dividends among shareholders. The results obtained are directed towards members and their communities in accordance with joint decisions based on voting at assemblies for each credit union.
The main return for members is linked to close relationships; the capacity to provide quality financial consultancy and the offer of specific and competitive solutions, suited to the current moment in each member’s life. Services are provided at a lower cost, thus favoring social inclusion and regional development. This is all thanks to cooperative financial institutions rooted in the region, which are managed by the actual members and thus foster a solid local identity.
