Os ideais da cooperação chegaram à
Itália em 1864, quando Luigi Luzzatti constituiu, em Milão, o Banco Popular11. As características dessa cooperativa também foram incorporadas por outras instituições, surgindo, assim, o modelo Luzzatti.

Cooperativism began in Italy in 1864 when Luigi Luzzatti formed Banco Popular11 in Milan. The characteristics of this cooperative were copied by other institutions, which gave rise to the Luzzatti model.
